There have been lots of changes around the Maxwell house recently. MaryBeth, Charlton and family moved to Midland about two months ago. They got a super deal on a short term rental house. After house hunting, they found a house to buy, bought it and moved in. All of this while working full time as preaching minister at Golf Course Road.
Marc meanwhile moved to the Washington DC area for about seven months. He is currently on his way to Portland, Oregon. He will go through Houston, Corpus Christi, Abilene, Midland and Lubbock on his way to Portland. He still has not decided where to live when he gets there.
At least Karen and I are stuck in the everyday rut.

My grandfather, Cliffy, was a special person. He wasn't very big but he was larger than life. He left a huge hole in our family when he passed on.
As long as I can remember he spent his life preaching. He went to small towns and small churches telling everyone he met about Jesus. You couldn't help but like Cliffy.
I ended up with Cliffy's notes - a whole filing cabinet drawer full. I spent a lot of time looking through the notes. One of the items I ran across were a comparison of life and a postage stamp. (It definitely would need to be updated since a first class stamp was $0.03 - I think I'm showing my age.) I don't remember all of the comparisons but I do remember two of them. It was the need to afix the stamp to the envelope for it to get to where it was going. The other was the ragged edges of our lives were much like the ragged sides of the stamp. Without putting the stamp on the envelope the ragged edges were totally obvious.

Its been a long time since I last wrote but here I am again. I'm ready to try it again.
My Dad, sister and brother-in-law came visiting a couple of days ago. My Dad drove to Houston and met up with my sister and brother-in-law. The three of them left the next morning for A-town arriving about 4 o'clock or so. We had Seafood Casserole for dinner which was GREAT.
We had a great visit which included a trip to Lytle Land & Cattle for a good steak and a visit to Buffalo Gap. After a Bowl of chicken soup for supper Karen, Jan and Bob went to a Xmas concert and Dad and I stayed home.
After some sad farewells the next morning, the crew was on their way back to Houston. Dad will spend today in Houston and go back to CC tomorrow.

This is the first post to this blog of what I hope will be many more. The subject matters will vary across the board. Each writing will be of necessity short due to a stroke which left one side useless. Until next time.
